The workshop will take place at Dartmouth, in Hanover, New Hampshire, USA, March 19th to 21st, 2025.
We are pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 2025 Ice-sheet and Sea-level System Model (ISSM) Workshop. There is no fee for participation in the workshop. A limited amount of travel support may be provided by Dartmouth’s Changing Polar Regions Academic cluster to help students or early-career scholars attend the workshop. Tutorials and interactive sessions will be offered for beginners/advanced users and developers interested in learning how to use ISSM. The workshop will be in-person and will cover both ice sheet dynamics and solid-Earth/Sea level fingerprints. We hope the workshop generates fruitful interactions between our team, the growing community of ISSM users, and the broader cryosphere community.
The workshop is sponsored by Dartmouth’s Changing Polar Regions Academic cluster, and NASA’s Earth Surface and Interior, Cryosphere and Sea Level Change Team Programs.
If you cannot walk to ECSC, the easiest option is to park in the Emily and Errik Anderson Parking Garage (right under ECSC, accessible from Thayer Drive). It is $15/day. There are other options in town, just make sure to not park overnight, the winter parking ban (no parking between 12am and 7am in town and on campus) is still in effect until the end of April.

Hilton Garden Inn Lebanon, NH: Phone # (603) 448-3300. The Dartmouth Coach (from Boston-Logan airport) has a stop within walking distance. There is currently no shuttle to Dartmouth. It is a convenient 10 minute drive for those with cars.
For other hotel options, you can check Advance Transit (Free transit for the Upper Valley). This convenient free bus service has stops near several hotels throughout the Upper Valley, and includes the towns of White River Junction, Lebanon, and West Lebanon.
Traveling to Dartmouth
The easiest way to travel to Dartmouth is to fly to Boston Logan Airport (BOS) and take the Dartmouth coach, which connects Boston Logan to Dartmouth College almost every hour. Note that tickets may be used for any trip prior to the expiration date listed on the ticket.
Participants are expected to bring a laptop with them. While you are welcome to use your own ISSM installation on your personal computer, we will host the workshop in the cloud on Jupyter notebooks. All the required packages will be installed and the datasets pre-downloaded.
